Description
Alain Strowel is a principal associate at Pierstone (Brussels) and a member of the Brussels Bar since 1988. He is a full professor of IP, media, and European IT law at Saint-Louis University and UCLouvain. With degrees in law, economics, and philosophy, and a PhD in law from UCLouvain, he previously led the Brussels copyright team at NautaDutilh and spent over a decade at Covington & Burling.
His expertise includes copyright, data governance, AI, and platform regulation. Elected to Academia Europaea in 2012, he chairs the IP working group of ALLEA since 2019. Fluent in French, English, Dutch, and German, he co-founded the IPdigIT blog.
