art Becks is a Belgian technology innovator, entrepreneur, and investor. Since 2021, he has served on the board of the European Innovation Council (EIC), the EU’s flagship program to fund and scale breakthrough startups and deeptech innovations, backed by €10.1 billion in blended finance and expert support. In 2025, Bart launched Genisys—a next-generation AI studio and venture lab designed to accelerate bold ideas into scalable companies. He is also a co-founder and board director of BeCentral, the tech campus located in Brussels Central Station Earlier in his career, Bart was CEO of Skynet (now Proximus), helping it grow into one of Belgium’s largest internet and digital media companies. He later served as Chairman of iMinds (now part of IMEC), and as Executive Chairman of the Euractiv media network, where he led its growth across 12 European markets before its acquisition by Mediahuis. Bart also advises startups, corporates, and public initiatives through various board and governance roles focused on growth, innovation, and impact.
